Autumn 1

Dosbarth Llwchwr had an exciting afternoon. We received a message that something had been found whilst the builders were doing some work. We discussed what we thought it might be.
Then, we all went outside and found out it was an old suitcase. We guessed what we thought might be in there. There was a letter from a little boy who was 8 years old at the time the box was buried. There were some old books about Cardiff, two cassette tapes, an old newspaper, a three-pence coin and some photo slides. It was all exciting and we loved exploring the objects.
Later, we got together to share our ideas of what we would like to learn about in our new topic … ‘Step Back in Time!’ The children came up with some fab ideas! Keep your eyes peeled of some exciting things we have planned for this term’s learning.

We continued to look at the 5 Steps to Wellbeing . . . We made birthday cards to give to our classmates. We kept active by making obstacle courses and seeing how many jumps we could do with a skipping rope. We took notice of our outdoor environment by taking a sense walk. Keeping notice allows us to stay in the moment and keep us calm when we feel overwhelmed.
Here is a sneaky peek into our return to school. We enjoyed getting to know each other and working together. We can't wait to see what the rest of the year will bring.
We kicked off our wellbeing week by reading the story ‘Ruby’s Worries’ and looked at the 5 Steps to Wellbeing… CONNECT, TAKE NOTICE, GIVE, BE ACTIVE & KEEP LEARNING!
Today’s step we looked at CONNECT! We connected by working together to complete a puzzle, create a Lego model & on leaves we wrote about how we can make our worries smaller. We will use these to create a ‘Worry Tree.’
We are excited to find out the next step tomorrow!
