Online Safety
Welcome to Meadowlane Primary School's online safety page!
There are lots of great things about life online, including social media, apps and games! Life wouldn't be the same without them for most of us. But sometimes things can go wrong, and you might feel like you are in an unsafe or upsetting situation.
At Meadowlane, we all want to keep children's online experience positive, so this area has been created to help you make sense of some of the issues that you might have to deal with. The information pages also include advice on what to do and where to turn for help if you are worried about something online.
Always keep in mind that children have rights and these rights also apply in the digital world!

Age Restrictions
Social media can be a fun way to connect with people and be entertained, but it's really important to stay safe online.
There are many types of social media, which can all be used for different things. Some of the most popular social media platforms include TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube, but there are many more.
You can use social media to keep in touch with friends and family, meet new people, watch videos and play games. But there are age restrictions. These restrictions are in place for a reason… to keep children safe. Most have a age rating of 13+. This means that no pupils at Meadowlane should be on any form of social media.
If you have any concerns or questions about your child's online safety, please contact your child's teacher or speak to Mrs Ford, Mr Simmonds or Ms Mussa.
